Pour garantir des prix raisonnables et une disponibilité durant ce mois de Ramadhan, l’Etat a décidé d’importer de la sardine de Tunisie et de la Mauritanie.
En effet, la sardine connait une flambée de son prix sur les marchés, variant entre 1200 et 1500 dinars le kilo. Cette situation a poussé les autorités à « étudier de nombreuses demandes d’importation de certains produits de la pêche en provenance des pays voisins, comme la Tunisie et la Mauritanie, dans le but de couvrir une partie des besoins du pays », a indiqué à la presse, le directeur de la pêche et des Productions halieutiques du ministère, Abderrahmane Hentour.
Selon le même responsable, une première quantité de 10 tonnes de sardines en provenance de Tunisie, a été importée par des opérateurs de la wilaya de Constantine et distribuée dans plusieurs wilayas de l’est comme Constantine, Skikda, Sétif, Batna.
Il a souligné que d’autres quantités supplémentaires de sardines sont attendues, assurant que la sardine importée est « fraîche et conforme au respect des conditions de conservation et de distribution ».
Cette opération se poursuivra tout au long du mois du Ramadhan, a-t-il aussi indiqué, ajoutant qu’elle fera l’objet d’une évaluation avec la possibilité de la prolonger jusqu’au mois d’avril, tout en prévoyant également une amélioration de la production nationale de sardines d’ici le mois de mai.
